British owned BraZen Gaming Chairs has continued to secure its position as arguably the number one gaming chair brand in Indonesia with its sponsorship deals of three more professional eSports teams all based in Jakarta – Juggernaut, Ladies Recall, SES and Bigo.
The background to this is that based on statistics quoted by Jakartapost.com, Forbes.com and Newzoo.com in 2017 Indonesia had around 43.7 million gamers spending an estimated US $800 million on gaming related products. This places Indonesia at about 16th in the World’s list of countries based on gaming product expenditure. Indonesian gaming has seen double digit growth over the last few years and this is expected to continue for the foreseeable future.
If one looks at the demographics of gamers in Indonesia one can see that approximately 26% of the 43.7 million gamers are males aged between 21 and 35 years. 21% of gamers are woman aged between 21 and 35 years of age. 56% of gamers are pc and/or laptop users and 45% play console, pc and mobile – with mobile gaming the largest element of participants and growing fastest.
The status of gaming or eSports as mainstream in Indonesia has been enhanced by the like of Universities beginning to offer degree courses in all aspects of the gaming industry to eSports featuring in the Asian Games 2018 and the Olympics of 2020.
